Spyro the Dragon

 



Spyro the Dragon is one of the most famous characters in video game history, originally released in 1998 by developer Insomniac Games as a major PlayStation exclusive. Spyro helped popularize fully 3D platformers in the late 1990s. Although he originated on Sony consoles, the character's rights passed through studios such as Vivendi and Activision, leading him to become a multiplatform franchise and appear on Nintendo and Xbox consoles as well.
