Donkey Kong

 



Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo's most iconic and long-standing characters. Created by Shigeru Miyamoto in 1981, he began as the villain in the eponymous arcade game, where he hurled barrels to stop the hero (Jumpman, who later became Mario) from rescuing his girlfriend, Pauline. Over time, the character evolved from an antagonist into one of the company's greatest heroes, starring in his own acclaimed platformer franchise. Author: ZoneSeven
